Girls’ Training Clinics 2023

We initiated our girls’ clinics in 2022 to increase girls’ footy participation following the pandemic. It proved to be a successful strategy, so successful that we’re doing it again.

The focus will be on the younger teams: Under 10s, 11s, 12s and 13s. Essentially, girls born from 2014 up to and including 2010. We’ve got places to fill in all these teams, and try-outs are welcome. Girls should wear runners not footy boots at these clinics please.

Emma Gaul (Progress Coaching) and the team coaches will run groups of girls through several zones, featuring running skills, kicking, marking, handball, agility, groundball, and FUN. Our Under 14 girls and coaches will join in too.

The two clinics will be:

  1. At Welcome Day, Brunswick Street Oval, Sunday 26th February 2023, 9am – 11am
  2. Olney Oval, Yarra Bend Park, Fairfield, Sunday 5th March 2023, 9am – 11am. Will also feature tackling sessions with the legendary Malcolm Bangs. Mouthguards please.
