2022 Coach Appointments and Preseason Training

Hello Roy Families
Thankyou for registering your child(ren)to play footy with the Roys in season 2022. We are all very very much looking forward to a full and fun season of football.

We have been busy appointing coaches and planning the preseason training schedule. A list of coaching appointments is provided below. We need coaches for Girls U10s and U12s and Mixed U8, U9, U12 and U13 teams. Check out this news article for more information about applying to coach a team.

Please see our Preseason Training Schedule for information about the date and location for each teams preseason sessions. The U13 teams and older start preseason training on Sunday February 13, and the U8 to U12 teams will start at Welcome Day on February 27.

Boys Teams (starting Sunday Feb 13)

Colts & U16: 9 to 10.30am at Alphington park
U15: 9 to 10.30am at Corben oval, Yarra Bend Park
U14: 10.30 to 11.45a, at McCutcheon oval, Yarra Bend Park
U13: 9 to 10.30am at Olney oval, Yarra Bend Park

Girls Teams

Youth Girls – check your email and FB group training starts February 20
U13-U16 -9 to 10.30am at Fairlea ovals, Yarra Bend Park. (From this Sunday Feb 13)

Footy boots not needed at preseason training but you do need to get a mouthguard organised as soon as possible. If you have one already then bring it to training.

Keep an eye out for our Girls Preseason Clinic flyer too – coming soon to your school newsletter or social media feed. Current, past and new players are all welcome. The 4-week clinic will form part of the preseason training schedule for girls teams from U10 to U16. It is free, and will teach the important skills of tackling and safety in the contest. Girls who are playing in mixed teams are welcome too.

This year we will be streaming the boys teams from U13 and up, and girls teams from U14 and up ( if we have more than one team). More details about streaming will be provided to those age groups in the coming weeks.
