WELCOME TO THE SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON

WELCOME TO THE SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON
And just like that, we find ourselves at Round 8.
Please see below important messages for the rest of the season:
DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE LEAGUE
A reminder that, consistent with our Parent Code of Conduct, parents and guardians must raise any issues of concern with their team manager (TM) in the first instance – ideally on the day the issue arises.
Where an issue cannot be resolved by your TM speaking to the other team’s TM, your team manager will notify the club via [email protected]
Please do not contact the league directly – the league will refer direct contact from parents and guardians back to the club.
MID-SEASON FEEDBACK
Thanks to everyone who has provided us with feedback. There is still time to share your thoughts on the season so far.

CAN YOU HELP US GROW OUR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM?
Equitable access and inclusion are principles we’re proud to uphold at Fitzroy. Each year we use our Scholarship Program to support junior players whose families are experiencing financial hardship, to give everyone a ‘fair go’ at playing footy at Fitzroy.
Tax-deductible donations from businesses and individuals will help us tackle financial barriers and get more players to enjoy the benefits of team sport.
This year we’ve helped 12 players with scholarships that cover the cost of registration and playing gear. With player registration fees starting at $360, any contribution you make can help us reduce the barriers to playing for our scholarship recipients.
In 2024 we helped 11 players. Next year we want to support more players across all junior age groups.
GROUND PACK UP
Huge thanks to our TMs and ground managers who set up and pack up at our five home grounds each week.
Please hang around and help your team pack up and please pack all our equipment away. Your TM has a guide for each ground you play at – equipment left outside or in shared spaces (and not locked up) risks being misplaced and unavailable for the following Sunday.
THE REST OF THE SEASON
We now have a block of three games – Rounds 8-10 before the school holidays followed by a block of four games Rounds 11-14 after the holidays. Please note, Round 11 is on the last Sunday of the school holidays – 20 July.
We expect the fixture for Round 11-14 during the school holidays.
Finally, a huge congratulations to our players and their families for the great conduct and sportsmanship shown across each of our 28 teams so far this season.
I know it can get tough when the wind and rain comes in sideways in July, but I know; I can count on you all, to channel our club’s key value of respect – for ourselves, our coaches, our team day volunteers, the opposition and their volunteers and our umpires.
Go Roys!
