President Xmas Message
December 20, 2020
Dear FJFC Families,
It goes without saying that 2020 has been a difficult year for all of us. For a Junior football club to not play a single game in a season sounds like nothing short of a disaster. But these difficult times have revealed the character and strength of our club. We have navigated through an unpredictable and constantly changing environment with the help and dedication of our parents, players, committee members and wonderful volunteers and I could not be prouder of the way our club has handled the challenges of this year, while still maintaining the sense of community we have come to know and love.
We can now put the difficulties of the year behind us and look to 2021 with the knowledge we have so much to look forward to; actually getting on the ground and playing some football with friends being the number one focus! We were very lucky to have been able to run a pre-Christmas ‘Boot Camp‘ training program in recent weeks. These sessions have seen over 100 kids from all ages hit the training track each weekend alongside coaches and parent volunteers to enjoy some skills training and reconnect with their friends. This is just a little taste of what is to come and we send a big thank you to all involved to enable us to get this program running for our young players.
Our registrations for the 2021 season open on Monday 25th January and I would encourage you all to sign up as early as possible as we set sail for the season starting on the 20th of April (see Registration page). Further communications from the club will come in January as a reminder.
Finally, I would like to wish you all a very safe and Merry Christmas and I look forward to seeing you in the new year!
Ben Harrison
