2026 FJFC Club Awards

Dear Roys 

Believe it or not, we’re nearing the end of the 2026 YJFL season. One round to go and then finals are upon us! We hope everyone has had an amazing year. 

As we wind down (or ramp up!), it’s time to recognise the people who make it possible for our kids to play the game they love, each and every week.  

Nominations for our annual club awards are now open! 

You’ll find everything you need to know about our four FJFC member-nominated awards below.  

These awards recognise: 

1. Club Person of the Year 
2. Coach of the Year 
3. Club Champion of the Year  
4. Volunteer(s) of the Year 

All members – players/parents/carers are invited to nominate someone for each club award, with nominations judged by the Committee.  

Nominations must be submitted by no later than 5pm, Friday 14 August 2026. 

CLUB PERSON OF THE YEAR AWARD 

This award recognises an outstanding contribution to the ongoing development of the FJFC, community-based football and young people. 

Criteria:  

• Nominations usually reflect several years of service to the club and a commitment to the club values of participation, fitness and fun.

COACH OF THE YEAR (Dick Terrens Award) 

This award recognises an outstanding contribution to coaching at FJFC. 

Criteria:  

• To be awarded to a coach who has demonstrated sustained, exemplary coaching for at least three seasons, and who has upheld the FJFC Coaches values of “Teamwork, Respect & Mentoring”.  
• The candidates must demonstrate the highest of character and always place development and fun ahead of winning.

CLUB CHAMPION OF THE YEAR (James Doughney Award) 

This is the club’s most prestigious player award and recognises outstanding contribution and talent, taking into consideration on and off field conduct and interleague representation.  

Criteria: 

• Open to players from U14s to Youth Boys and Girls
• Nominees must have played with the FJFC for at least four seasons, displayed on-field leadership and a commitment to fair play, and not been found guilty or suspended in the year of nomination by the FJFC, YJFL or any development squad.

 VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD(S)  

This award recognises the effort put in, and support provided by a volunteer to make our club a strong, vibrant and desirable place to be. 

Criteria:  

• Nomination for this award recognises an above and beyond contribution throughout the Season.
