All Club Update Round 12
July 23, 2025
Hello again Roys families,
It was great to have footy back on the weekend in such wonderful weather – long may it continue!
A few important messages from me:
THE 5th QUARTER – SUNDAY 27 JULY
Come and join us this Sunday evening as we celebrate FJFC women and girl players and leaders.
We have got a great night planned (including spectacular raffle prizes!) and I look forward to seeing you at the Brunswick St Oval Community rooms (next to the Grandstand) from 5:30pm.
CLUB AWARDS – NOMINATIONS OPEN NOW!
Nominations for our annual club awards are now open. We will be recognising coach of the year, club person of the year, volunteer of the year and club champion (for players in our U14 teams and up).
Please take a moment to recognise someone who has made footy great this season. More information, including award criteria and nomination forms can be found Here
TOYOTA GOOD FOR FOOTY RAFFLE – LAST WEEKS!
We are so close to reaching our target, so please speak to your team manager if you have not had a chance to buy tickets in the raffle, which will be drawn on 12 September 2025.
Over the next four weeks, we will be opening the voucher cupboard to reward the team that sells the most tickets in the weeks commencing 4, 11, 18 and 25 August so send your unique team link to friends and family and let’s bring this home!
SUPPORTING THE BUSINESSES THAT SUPPORT US
Finally, community clubs like ours rely on our partners to fund programs and operations that help us to thrive.
Three of our major partners have backed us over multiple seasons and we hope you’ll help us to demonstrate our gratitude by supporting their businesses where you can.
Jellis Craig Inner North
Jellis Craig have been our naming rights sponsor for many years, with their logo proudly shown on our Youth football jumpers. Jellis Craig Inner North (Fitzroy/Northcote/Reservoir) further strengthens this partnership by offering financial rewards for the club when FJFC members, families or friends use Jellis Craig services.
For every new listing signed with Jellis Craig Inner North, they donate $500 of the sales commission to our club. It’s part of their Community Boost Program, and if you’re thinking of selling a home, please contact David Sanguinedo at Jellis Craig Inner North and mention your Fitzroy Junior Football Club connection.
Community Bank Clifton Hill-North Fitzroy (Bendigo Bank)
The Community Bank Clifton Hill-North Fitzroy is committed to local partnerships that make our community a better place to live, work, play and grow.
In 2025 it provided FJFC with a generous grant to run Sport and Life Training (SALT) sessions with our teams, covering healthy masculinity, peer pressure and empowerment, wellbeing and mental health.
The Community Bank model means bank profits get returned to local communities. Since 2006, Community Bank Clifton Hill-North Fitzroy have invested more than $4 million in community projects.
Our Club banks with Community Bank Clifton Hill–North Fitzroy and I encourage our families and supporters to consider banking there as well. Visit David Fielder and the team at 101 Queens Parade or call 9482 9040 and don’t forget to mention you were referred by the Club.
Clifton Hill Brewpub
The Brewpub gives all of our 28 teams vouchers for the Brewpub bistro, and hosts our team dinners, Life Members’ Dinner and other club functions and activities. Get-togethers are an essential part of footy culture and we’re grateful for the Brewpub’s support in helping us connect off the field. It’s also the preferred venue for our Youth Boys coaching crew!
The Clifton Hill Brewpub is a family-run, independent pub, with an on-site microbrewery, wood-oven pizzas and perfectly cooked steaks. The Brewpub’s beers are inspired by the local area and include favourites like the Queens Parade Pale.
You can find out more about our ongoing Club partners on our website.
A welcome boost to our Scholarship Program
Our recent end-of-financial-year fundraiser generated more than $7,000 for our Scholarship Program, which tackles financial barriers to playing by covering the cost of registration and gear. This year we supported 12 players, and we’re off to a good start with funding for next year’s scholarships.
Thank you to all who contributed or helped spread the word. We’re committed to equitable access and inclusion, and these scholarships get more kids on the field contributing to our Club’s future and strengthening our connection to the community.
If you know someone who would benefit from a scholarship next year, please contact me anytime.
Go Roys!
Bridget
