Support the club

Dear Roys Members,

FJFC is a community-based Australian Rules junior football club that aims to provide players, coaches, umpires, and families with an inclusive, fun, and safe football environment that epitomizes the value of community sport.

Respect, Team Spirit, Well-being, Mentoring & Development, and Inclusiveness are the principles that drive our Club forward.

Our purpose is to operate a sports club for residents of Fitzroy and surrounding areas, offering equal opportunities for children from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds and sporting abilities. We strive to foster community spirit and cooperation in the broader Fitzroy community.

We manage club operations to enable player participation and retention, ensuring a quality football experience that is safe, fun, and inclusive for all, regardless of ability.

How You Can Support the Club

The Club provides multiple ways for members and supporters to help build a financially sustainable organization, ensuring we can invest in the operational capability to deliver on our mission and purpose.

Here are some of the key ways you can support us:

Toyota Good for Footy Raffle

The Toyota Good for Footy Raffle helps us raise nearly $10,000 directly back to our club! This season, we aim to raise just $350 per team.

For every $5 ticket we sell, FJFC gets 100% of the proceeds. There are 34 amazing prizes, including 3 new cars, AFL player and head coach coaching clinics, AFL experiences, player appearances, signed footballs, and various gift vouchers.

The first team to reach their target will receive a $300 voucher for an end-of-season function, and the team that raises the most will receive a $200 voucher. Purchase tickets here.

FJFC ASF

Tax Deductible Donations

Your tax-deductible donations through the Australian Sports Foundation platform significantly help our club continue its operations and enhance the football experience for all members.  The ASF platform provides a unique chance to get a tax benefit from your financial contribution to two club programs:

The FJFC player scholarship program

Donations to the Program will be used to support families and children who might otherwise not be able to participate and enjoy the benefits of playing footy in a structured and safe team environment. Low-income families or families experiencing financial hardship may be provided with assistance.

The FJFC football operations program

Donations to the Program will help us fit-out the new sports pavilion being built at Brunswick Street Oval. FJFC and the sporting community at Edinburgh Gardens have been operating without permanent clubrooms since 1993 and so we are starting from scratch to develop this new facility for our members and junior players. The sports pavilion is being built with generous support from the Victorian Government and Yarra City Council, but we need to fund much of the fit-out and new equipment.

Your donations will make a real difference to achieving our objectives.

When you make a donation using the ASF platform, you will receive a receipt which is evidence for the tax office of you making a tax-deductible donation.  Please consider supporting these FJFC Programs by making a tax-deductible donation today.

Victorian Container Deposit Scheme

FJFC is a registered donation partner with the scheme.  When you take containers to the various Scheme recycling refund points you can choose to donate your refund to FJFC.  Each eligible container can earn a 10-cent refund.  Our club’s catchment covers two zone areas of the Scheme: CDS VIC North (operated by Visy) and CDS VIC West (operated by TOMRA Cleanaway).

                              FJFC Support Container Scheme

Each of these operators has an app available in your devices’ App store.  Once you have downloaded and registered in the app and you are ready to go, you can recycle containers at a refund point and nominate FJFC as the destination for your refund donation.  Another way is to scan the bar code at the recycle station.

Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference in running our club.

How are the funds spent?

Fitzroy Junior Football Club, one of Victoria’s largest and strongest clubs, manages over 600 players and 30+ girls’ and boys’ teams from U8 to U18. Funds are allocated to various aspects of club operations, including grounds management, equipment, trainers, and child safety.

We also use these funds to provide jumpers, footballs, and other essential items necessary for playing footy at Fitzroy. Importantly, the funds support our inclusion policy, prioritizing player participation and retention by ensuring a quality football experience that is safe, fun, and inclusive for all.

——–

We want all our members, regardless of their circumstances or abilities, to gain a love of the game and thrive as they develop a strong sense of self and connection to our Club.

With your support, Fitzroy Junior Football Club will continue to be a leading community Australian Rules Football Club, cultivating an inclusive environment for children and their families to love and participate in the sport, whether through playing, umpiring, or volunteering.

Your contribution, no matter how small or large, helps the club deliver on our mission.

Go Roys!
